COVID 19 UPDATE

Have a look at how Covid 19 has changed a few things regarding the 2020 event

ENTRIES

Entries have been capped at 300 participants.

 

REGISTRATION

Registration will be held at the Royal Manor hotel in Barkly East.

  • Participants will cue outside with social distancing in mind.
  • Sanitiser will be distributed and temperature scans will be done.
  • Participants will sign event indemnity and collect goody bag.
  • Medics will do a pre race check on each rider.
  • Registration will be open from 12:00 till 20:00 to accommodate all riders

 

RACE BRIEFING & PASTA DINNER

There will be no live race briefing held.

  • Race Briefing will be made available via Email to all Participants 
  • We will be placing the Video Race Briefing on Facebook, Instagram
  • Pasta Dinner will be made available as a Take Away Option from Royal Manor Hotel

 

RACE START & BATCHING

Race Start will be from 06:00 starting with the Elite Batch.

  • Batches will be made available 1 week before the start of the event.
  • Only 50 riders allowed per batch.
  • Elite riders can apply to be batched in the main start batch.
  • Batches will be starting every 10 minutes
TIMING & CUTOFF

Timing will be done for each batch.

14 Hour Cutoff will be implemented from the start of the last batch on the day.

WATER POINTS

Water points will be run in this orderly fashion:

  • There will be dedicated people to fill your water and drink bottles at each water point. Riders are not to touch the water tables.
  • All Eats and treats will be pre packed and handed to riders on arrival.
  • No thing will be on a self service stand. Whatever you need will be handed to you by a dedicated person that will be sanitising continuously.
  • We ask that all riders respect this ruling by the water point volunteers to keep them as safe as possible.
FINISH

Finishing at the Maclear Country Club

  • Each rider finishing the event will be handed their race medal
  • Each Rider will receive their fresh burger and cold drink
  • Currently there will be no alcohol sold or available as per the national restriction.
  • There will be a media prize giving as soon as the first 3 Male & Female Participants have finished.
  • Lucky draw prizes will be announced via our social media platforms.
TRAVEL

Here are the travel arrangements for the 2020 event.

  • Each participant will need to arrange his/her own support driver to transport vehicles from Start to Finish                          - No exceptions -
  • If interprovincial travel restriction are still in place we will be looking to provide all participants with the needed permits to allow for travel to the event.
